We took a stroll to Brick Lane last week as part of my Birthday Week celebrations. I’d been on a six-week sugar detox up until the big day, so I was cereal-usly (hehe) craving some sugary goodness. What better place to go then, than the Cereal Killer Cafe – home to the infamous £3 bowl of cereal (well, infamous according to Channel 4 anyway, I think the price strikes a happy medium between our mundane British cereal and its more exciting overseas cousins).
Being the adventurous devil that I am, I went for a nice bowl of Golden Grahams. I did push the boat out opting for whole milk rather than my usual lactose-intolerant-friendly oat, but I have to admit I was rather jealous of my boyfriend Lee’s colourful Reese Puffs + Caramel Milk + Marshmallow combo.
Next time I think I’ll go for one of the excitingly named “cocktails”… Maybe the Unicorn Poop? With Ricicles + Party Rings + Fluff + 100’s 1000’s + Marshmallows it frankly sounds a bit disgusting, but I am a sucker for some good old fashioned toilet humour.
Sugar rushes aside, it’s definitely worth a visit. Staff is super friendly, the typically East End-y ambience has a nice feel to it and the cereal-inspired art demands respect. Just avoid weekends, the queues are crazy.
