Happy Saturday! Weekends are made for cheeky treats – and what could be cheekier or treatier than the juiciest burger ever!
Five Guys‘ American diner-y interior is rather charming, and although the queues are often long, the service is super quick. You can also order online before you arrive and jump straight to the front if you’re in more of a hurry.
Thinking I was being very responsibly subdued I went for the ‘Little Cheeseburger’, which in actual fact turned out to be the size of what I would call a rather generous normal cheeseburger – so I wouldn’t go for the double patty regular burgers unless you are properly peckish. And although the prices do seem a little steep, there is a huge variety of toppings to choose from for free (mayo, grilled onions and grilled mushrooms for me!); in fact, there are apparently over 250,000 possible ways to order a burger at Five Guys!
Why not show your appreciation for the juicy burgers by flexing your arty muscles!
Just look at that yummy goodness. A word to the wise though, they only use peanut oil – which yes, is probably a lot better than all the yucky oils used by other fast food joints, but less so I guess for those with nut allergies?
What started out as a small Washington, DC family business in 1986, now has over 1,000 franchises all over. I went to the Covent Garden one – find your closest store here!
